Yes, there is a door behind that green tape. We first did it on our door, peeled it off and carried it up to their door so we wouldn't risk making too much noise for them to hear us. When we got to their door, we heard that they had company over, so they probably wouldn't have heard us anyways. Oh well. We finally stuck it on, knocked and ran down the hall to the stairwell. But we waited for them to answer it to hear their reaction :) So funny! But now we know that they are going to get back at us somehow, but I'm not too worried. In all fairness, they are the ones who started it back in May.

Door War
We moved into our place in May 2008. Ever since then, we have been pulling small "pranks" on another couple in our building, Kevyn and Ed. All we have really done to each other is sneak up to each other's door and knock really loud and run away. We usually get away with it, except last week we heard them sneaking up to our door after church. I waited at the door with my hand on the door knob and lock ready to open it right as soon as they knocked! Success!! We finally caught them, and they totally we're expecting it! Then later on in the week, they knocked on our door again and ran away, and this time, they actually scared the crap out of me! So we decided that we would get them back good. This is what we came up with:

Comfortable?
I was talking with my sister Tammy on the phone this past Sunday, when I came across Chester sleeping like this on the couch.

How is this even comfortable?
I laughed so hard I woke him up, but he stayed in the same position!
Even until Dan came home, which he usually goes running for the door to greet him.
But I think he was just too comfortable/lazy to move. Or maybe he thought his leg might snap if he budged.

Arlen's 30?!
It's true, my one and only brother turned 30 today. I don't see much of him, but I hope that changes soon :)
Happy birthday Arlen!

This & That
Not much has been going on lately. I started working part-time at the beginning of the month, and so far, it's been great. Keep in mind, I haven't seen my paycheck yet for this month. I'm still pretty bored even though I have half the time, so I still get to surf the web at work. Yesterday I came up with this video. (Just click on the word "video" to see it online.) Those are my sister Kristie's kids. They are going to drive down to Disneyland at the end of the week. Yes, they are driving! They are going to be gone for a couple weeks too! I wish Dan and I could afford to go somewhere nice, but our goal is a house this year, and to get that, we have to sacrifice the trips unfortunately. We do still get out once in awhile though. Like last weekend we went to Banff when Dan got home from class on Saturday! We were wanting to go with our friends Meaghan and Dallin, but by the time Dan thought up the idea, I told him that they had left early to go visit her parents. We are so sorry Meaghan and Dallin!! We will still go with you whenever you want! I brought my camera to get some shots for my photography class. Here are some pictures of our half-day trip.
After all of this we went shopping and then to the Hot Spings as it got dark out. It was a bit crowded, but still really nice!
Another thing that Dan and I do is go swimming. There are two places that we go to which are Southland Leisure Centre and Village Square. For both of them on Monday and Wednesday nights from 9:00pm-10:00pm is only $2 each! It's a great deal, and it's good to get that exercise in and to spend time together too. This semester, we are only able to go on Wednesday nights (when we don't have a shift at our building) because Dan has class on Monday nights. Just one and a half months until he's all finished school!!!

Fun Dancing
I went to my niece's (Amber) recital last night and had a great time! The kids were adorable as they were watching their sister/cousin dancing, they decided to get up and dance too! I wish my camera was working properly to catch all the hilarious things that they did, but this is all I have:
Amber is the one on the far right. The two little girls that cut-in are my other nieces Chelsea and Clare. Here is another one of them having a fun time:

I noticed that we haven't received any comments on our blog yet this year! Am I just writing to myself or are people actually reading this?

Current Events
Today was my first day as part-time. Yes, I told my work that I was going to work part-time because really, it's better than having nothing at all! I tried to squeeze a couple more months out of them for me to work full-time until Dan is finished school, but they couldn't really work with me on that one. So it looks like we are going to have to pinch our pennies even tighter in order to save up for a house this year. It actually wasn't that bad working just half a day this morning. It was nice to know that I wouldn't be bored ALL day, just until noon! I didn't even really notice that I now have to wake up an hour earlier (and that's rare for being such a heavy sleeper!). I find this as a blessing in disguise. I now have time to work on my photography when I get home from work, or even exercise! Granted, I didn't really do a whole lot today, but it's definitely in the plans! I also really like the fact that I am able to see Dan a lot more during the day now. However, he's usually busy studying and I don't want to bother him, but it's just nice to know that he's right there.
A couple weekends ago was my niece's (Ashley) 1st birthday party. My sister Tammy put it all together at the Panorama church building. I was pretty excited to see my side of the family, so I brought along my camera to see if I could get a few good shots.

Bad Luck Streak
Yesterday Dan called me at work and told me that our kitchen sink was backing up and dirty, greasy water was coming up through the drain! SICK! He was trying to keep up with it by dumping it into the bathroom sink, until he started getting sick because of the nasty smell and texture of the water. He finally came to pick me up from work, which took no longer than 15-20 minutes, and we come home and see that the carpet outside our door is wet. Great. We both knew what had happened. We open the door and greasy, smelly water was flowing through our kitchen and front entry. Plus Chester was excited for us to come home and tried to come greet us, but found himself trapped on the front mat with wet, dirty paws. The poor boy, he had no idea what was going on. If this was just dirty water, I wouldn't be so upset, but the fact that this water was mostly grease really had me livid!! The kitchen sink was overflowing and it was pouring down the cupboards onto our kitchen mat and flowing into the entry way and soaking that mat too, and also into our front closet. Luckily we got there in time before it started flowing down the hallway. This is not how I had planned my Monday evening. What a way to start off the week. Dan didn't go to class because he helped clean up the mess. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures, it wasn't exactly the first thing we thought about when we saw what happened.
To make matters worse, I arrived to work this morning, and the two owners wanted to chat with me in a secluded place. My heart dropped! I'm peeing my pants on my way to the office. They sit me down, and tell me that they want to talk to me about how there's not that much work for me to do. They hadn't predicted this when they initially hired me. I thought for sure I was being laid off!! But to my surprise, they asked if I would be interested in working half-time with them. Sure that would be great, just as long as my salary stayed the same. I asked how it would be affected, and they told me that it would be just over half of what I'm getting now. NOT COOL! I explained to them that right now is difficult for us, we are trying to save up for a house this year, and me only having a part-time job wouldn't cut it. The hours that they want me to work would be afternoon hours, which makes it hard to find another part-time job because I can't work in the evenings. Dan has class most evenings and we have shifts to work in our building during the evenings. They let me know that they would be really sad to see me leave because they love the work that I do, when there is work to do. I'm supposed to let them know on Friday what my decision will me. This week really blows already, and it's only Tuesday. I hope I don't see our dreams of buying a house go down the drain (no pun intended). Please, if anyone reading this knows of anything available, let me know! Part-time or full-time.

One and a Half Years
As of last Tuesday, Feb. 17, Dan and I have been married for 18 months! Time sure does fly! It seems like just yesterday that we were walking out of the Cardston Temple together on our perfect wedding day. But now we are closer to our two year anniversary than we are to our one year! It's crazy to think of it that way! These past 18 months have been the best ones of my life. I love Dan so much and I couldn't ask for anyone better to spend the rest of my life and all of eternity with.

Family Day Long Weekend
I love the February long weekend. It's nice to have something between the Christmas holidays and Easter to look forward to. It was a pretty busy one for us this year. We spent it mostly with Dan's family as they were all in Calgary to celebrate Dan's Mom's (Sue) 60th birthday later on this month. Friday night we went out for dinner to Joey Tomato's with no kids! It was different from what I'm used to and it was so nice to actually have adult time without the interruptions of little voices chattering and screaming in the middle of a busy restaurant. A definite suggestion for my side of the family! Dan's sisters Pam and Jackie travelled up from California and Oregon. We haven't seen them since before Christmas! Pam came by herself without her kids or husband, which she really enjoyed a small break from. Jackie, however, brought her new fiance, David along! We all met him for the first time on Friday night. Dan's brother Will and his wife Heather came from Lethbridge to join us too. Spencer and Laurie brought along their new baby, Cullen Samuel, who is their 3rd child and 3rd boy to join their little family. He was born Thursday Feb. 5, 2009. (Congratulations!)

We were seated in a separate section in the restaurant so we had a more private dinner which was quite enjoyable. The food was great and the company was even better. I love being with Dan's side of the family, it's not very often that they are all together, but when they are, it's a fun time to be had.
After dinner, Dan made an appointment with himself to shave off his beard that he grew in for a couple weeks. It was really quite thick and grew in pretty good! He's definitely a Glenn. I really enjoyed him having a beard, but I think I was one of very few people who felt this way about it. Here is the process of the big event.
Anyways, back to the birthday celebration that lasted for most of the weekend. On Saturday (the 14th), we were initially planning on all going to the Temple in Cardston, but instead, we had a dinner at Dan's parents' house. This time the kids joined us and they really enjoyed seeing and playing games with their Uncle Dan. He seems to be a favorite among the kids on both sides of our families. I just wish we could have stayed longer that night. When the extended family started to arrive, we had to leave because Dan was scheduled to DJ a 30+ singles dance that night, which turned out to be a dead night for them. I didn't mind that Dan had to DJ on Valentines' Day because lucky for him, I'm not a big fan of the holiday. I think that showing love should happen sporadically throughout the year, and not have a scheduled date each year to spend more money than usual to buy gifts or candy.
Sunday we went to church and taught our CTR 5 class, came home and napped for about 4 hours (I so needed that!), then we headed over to Dan's parents' house once again and made candy popcorn and played "Ticket to Ride" with Jackie and David. That was such a fun time!
Family Day Monday came and Dan really wanted to go to Banff for the day. However, we slept in quite late and I didn't really feel like going for half a day and have it be super busy because of the holiday, so we went out shopping instead. Dan bought a new shirt and I got two pairs of jeans that are actually quite comfortable! If you really know me, then you know how much I hate wearing jeans, because on the girl's styles, they make them all so tight in the hips and thighs, I can barely sit down without having all of the blood being cut-off to the lower half of my body. But I finally found some that are more loose and breathable, and surprisingly enough, I didn't even have to hem them up! Once I saw that the jeans were the perfect length and width, I knew that these jeans were made especially for me.
On Monday night, we had a shift at our building where we live, but Dan so graciously offered to do it himself while I stayed home to have a bit of a nap. I really appreciated it. I usually have to do them alone because Dan has class in the evening hours. Thanks Dan :) That's about all for our long weekend. I'm sad that it's over, but now we have Easter to look forward to!
A special congrats goes out to Jackie and David on their engagement! They are planning to be married in the Cardston Temple on June 5, 2009. We are very excited and very happy for them both.
